State of the Union

During last night's state of the union address, President Bush argued that his tax cuts ought to be made permanent, citing improvements in the economy and saying that "the American people are using their money far better than government would have -- and you were right to return it." I just wanted to you to know that last night I was watching a rerun of "The West Wing" and president Bartlett mentioned the same phrase during a debate with his Republican opponent on national TV. Do you think it's hard for political speechwriters to not steal from Aaron Sorkin? I mean, that phrase could be very common and I just don't know it, but you've got to wonder.
Also, Bush read off a laundry list of countries who sent troops to assist us with Iraq, and near the top of the list was Japan. I read on MSN's Slate today that Japan sent 41 people. Yeah George, they've been a big help. Japan is obviously right there with us on this thing.
